About

Although I was born and raised on Long Island, NY, the good news is that I don’t sound like it…unless, of course, we get into a good conversation about Italian food or life in NY, then I can quickly revert to my homeland diction. Ultimately, I am a New Yorker; I just do a good job blending in outside in the other areas where God has taken me. 😉

On Long Island, I attended both college and graduate school, earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in English and Education, with a minor in Psychology, preparing to be an English teacher. After graduating, I taught Middle School English for ten years, followed by five additional years teaching on the college level. I loved teaching at every level, and even though it is not a formal part of my life now, I will always consider myself a teacher.

I stopped teaching when God dramatically changed my life by moving our family from New York to Pennsylvania to begin what we didn’t realize at the time would be a journey into full time ministry. It was in PA, while I was home with my very young children, that the Lord brought me to volunteering at a local pregnancy center. This seemingly small step would change the course of my life as I knew it.

After serving for two years as a volunteer at the center, God opened the door for me to join the staff as the Development Director. I had never served in a position like that before, but God had been preparing me and equipping me long before I knew it. It was a wonderful season of growing in my faith, in my passion for Life and in the gifts of writing and speaking that He had given me.

Because of this, it was a shock and difficult transition for me when it all came abruptly to an end. After serving as the Principal of a K-12 Christian School for six years, my husband had to leave his position, and so suddenly we were preparing to move and change our lives again. It was a very challenging season for us both, but God had a plan.

The new, unexpected journey brought us to Winter Haven, Florida, where my husband’s situation was redeemed with a new job at a wonderful school where he still serves today. The Lord had so much more in store for both of us than we could have ever imagined. Joseph ultimately became Headmaster of that school, and the Lord brought me to A Woman’s Choice in Lakeland, FL, where I have been serving as Executive Director since 2009.

Joseph and I have been married since 1996. The Lord has blessed us with two wonderful children, although we cannot call them children any longer. Both Rachel and Andrew are young adults, making their way into adulthood and discovering all that God has for them in this life. We are also blessed to have a beautiful daughter in law, Jenna, since 2021. We are so thankful for the gift of family.

Our family still lives in Winter Haven, FL, where we worship at Thrive Church. We have a couple of cats and one cute “poochie pup,” as my husband would call her, although she is a pretty old lady at this point. We are blessed and grateful for the life God has given us.

Through all of these journeys and seasons of life, I have been using and growing the gift of words that God has given me. Not only is writing and speaking an integral part of my ministry work, but I also write and speak outside of the ministry for various church events and opportunities. With each opportunity to proclaim the truth of God’s Word and minister through it, my passion for speaking and writing has grown. I know God is not finished with me and my journey yet.
